found art

Hopefully you found this site through a small piece of art or photograph that was left to be found.  The art is a gift to you and I pray it brings you joy and hope and encouragement.

I give it away as I am developing two habits in my life. The first, as someone interested in pursuing a living of artmaking, to learn to not be too attached to my work.  Second, and more importantly, loving God and loving my neighbor, even through art making, compels me to seek to live a life focused on giving rather than receiving.

I doubt that my art has the power to bring change and blessing and hope to you in and of itself, but the act of giving often can touch us, and that is my hope and expectation.  You are welcome to share your thoughts but nothing is required of you.  Just trying to create a space for you to consider God’s incredible love for you and His thoughtfulness towards you.

Left a piece of art today and actually saw someone check it out and pick it up. I was glad. I never know if it gets taken home, put in lost and found or thrown away. People’s response to it is their own, it’s just nice to know that at least once, someone picked it up.
